Product Safety & Responsible Use

BeSuro™ is a preliminary beverage-screening aid for personal reference. It can add an extra screening step to your night-out routine, but it cannot confirm that a drink is safe and it is not a substitute for awareness, judgement or professional testing.

What does BeSuro™ screen for?

The BeSuro™ product catalogue lists five screening targets: GHB, ketamine, flunitrazepam, benzodiazepines and scopolamine. BeSuro™ does not screen for every possible substance, contaminant or unsafe situation.

How do I use a BeSuro™ sticker?

  1. Stick the sticker to your cup.
  2. Peel off the protective cover.
  3. Dab one drop of the beverage onto the centre of the test area.
  4. Check the result at 5 seconds, as set out in the instructions supplied with your pack.

Always follow the instructions supplied with your actual BeSuro™ pack. You can also read our How It Works guide.

What does a negative result mean?

A negative result does not guarantee that a drink is safe. Screening tests have limitations and BeSuro™ cannot detect every substance or every unsafe circumstance. If something about a beverage, situation or person makes you uncomfortable, do not rely on a negative screening result as reassurance.

What does a positive result mean?

A positive screening result is not sole proof that a drug is present. Do not consume the beverage. Where confirmation is necessary, appropriate professional or laboratory testing should be used.

Can the type of drink affect the result?

Yes. The supplied product information warns that milk-based drinks may cause false positives for GHB, while red wine or strongly coloured beverages may affect interpretation. Always consider the beverage type when interpreting a result and follow the pack instructions.

What should I do if I am suspicious of a drink?

If a result is positive, you are unsure about the result, or you are suspicious of a beverage for any reason, do not consume it. Move to a safer environment if necessary, tell someone you trust or venue staff, and seek appropriate medical or emergency assistance if you or another person feels unwell or may be in immediate danger.

Is BeSuro™ a medical or forensic test?

No. BeSuro™ is intended for preliminary, personal-reference beverage screening. It is not intended for medical diagnosis, forensic confirmation, legal evidence or law-enforcement use.

Can BeSuro™ replace normal drink-safety precautions?

No. BeSuro™ should be treated as one additional screening tool rather than a guarantee. Keep your drink with you where practicable, avoid consuming a beverage if you are uncertain about its origin or handling, look out for the people you are with, and trust your judgement if something feels wrong.
